Kokeb Ethiopian Restaurant – London England

kokeb restaurant ethiopian - london

I popped over to this place on a very very cold night while i was in London. Tucked away from the high roads i found a small well maintained little eatery. This is more of a relaxed bistro cafe than a restaurant. The friendly welcome i received was just super.

I sat myself down and placed my order, as it was so cold i thought a soup would be a good idea. So chicken soup followed by shiro, gomen (spinach) and injera. The soup was indeed a good idea as was my main dish.

Now outside of Ethiopia i find injera usually not at its best, but this was supreme. This was all followed by a coffee and it all came in under £20 ($30).

I had a feeling that i had just eaten at a friends house as the welcome and relaxed vibe along with the great food just had that homely feeling about it. The rest of the menu had lots more on it including doro (chicken), sega (meat) and asa (fish) in many steles and to suit all.

Was i happy – Yes
Was it good value – O Yes
Will i go back – You bet ya
